About The Event
Sloetrain Fresh from this years “Have Blues will Travel” festival tour, Sloetrain are still coming down from a career defining performance, opening the Upton Blues Festival Meadow Stage. Macca the Drummer is a Heart Failure patient so supporting the BHF tonight was a no brainer, so come along and enjoy 90 mins of high voltage British Blues that will shake your hips and have you singing from the rooftops.
We play our songs for fun and the love of live performance. Think Bonamassa meets The Bluesbreakers, with a twist of early Fleetwood Mac. Add in a little Ainslie Lister and King King influence and you have a heady cocktail of contemporary blues that is aching to be played live. These influences, combined with fine musicianship and excellent stage craft makes sure we will bring any venue or festival set alive. “In a music landscape packed with bands all too often working the classics, it’s great to hear a band delivering strong original material. Given that decades ago we all expected to be finished with music and have proper jobs, how good it is to revisit the original values of playing with freedom, minimal production and maximum impact." Shine On….! Nick Mason : Pink Floyd
Sons of Delta First on stage at 7.30 will be our friends from Sons of Delta. "Sons of the Delta was formed by two of the top Bluesmen in the SouthWest UK, Mark Cole (vocals, harp, slide guitar) and Rick Edwards (guitar, vocals). They play an earthy, passionate blend of electric/acoustic Juke Joint and Delta Blues flavoured with the many roots music styles from the southern states of the USA – from delicate, intimate acoustic numbers to full on house-rockin' electric Blues.
The ‘Sons’ collectively have nearly 50 years experience of playing the Blues in Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia."
